As a teenager growing up in the Bronx, a young Craig Cutstar caught the dj bug. Countless hours were spent studying numerous mixtapes and going to the parties of the legends in the game. DJ’s such as Kid Capri, FunkMaster Flex, GrandMaster Flash, DJ A.M., DJ Jazzy Jeff and other great spinmasters influenced Craig’s desire to be recognized as one of the best. However, one moment changed his dj life forever. In 2011, Craig attended a party by Kid Capri in Atlanta, Ga. Kid’s mother had passed away less than a week ago. Although Mr. Capri was obviously distraught, he did not want to let his fans down. Kid Capri proceeded to dj one of the best parties I have ever heard in my life. His selections were creative, his crowd control was uncanny, and he rocked an Atlanta crowd as if he grew up in Decatur; instead of the Bronx. He thanked the crowd for the love they gave him. He said they helped him through his mourning period. At that moment, Craig realized what a real dj must do when he spins; change the mood, uplift a spirit, rekindle a memory or just help someone forget their troubles for a little while.
